College
Scholarships
the key to a good future
by Bill Murray
As I travel the region, listening to community concerns about public
safety and the quality of life in the neighborhoods, I almost never
fail to hear how young kids need opportunities for a decent education.
So I'm delighted to create this page, which may give some the chance
to get a college diploma.
Jorge Quezada, of the Mayor's Office, forwarded this list of over
50 scholarship opportunities. It comes from Barry Stone, who serves
the Commission for Children, Youth & Their Families.
Please ... forward this info yourself, and help our young people
have a chance at a fuller, richer life.

Missed
Opportunity for College Scholarships
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pass this scholarship information on to anyone and everyone
that comes to mind. I was heartbroken to find that, though
there are a number of companies and organizations that have
donated monies for scholarship use, a great deal of the money
is being returned because of a lack of interest.
STUDENTS ARE NOT APPLYING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS!
PARENTS, HEADS UP! No one is going to knock on our doors and
ask if we can use a scholarship. Take the initiative to get
your children involved. There is no need for money to be returned
to donating companies because we fail to apply for it.
Please pass this information on to family members, nieces,
nephews, and friends with children etc. We must get the word
out that money is available. If you are a college student
or getting ready to become one, you probably already know
how useful additional money can be.
