Van Nuys jet center contract up in the air?
The Los Angeles Airport Commission suspended talks Monday on final
details of a contract to operate a jet center at Van Nuys Airport.
Talks were halted when losing bidders said billionaire developer
David Murdock got the deal because of his political connections
to Mayor James Hahn.

"Detectives Need Clues To Solve Homicide"
Los Angeles: On Sunday July 18, 2004 at 7:12 a.m., Foothill Area
officers responded to a "Possible Murder Investigation" radio call
in the 9200 block of Dorrington Place in the Arleta area of Foothill
Division. Responding officers were directed to a dead body in the
driveway of a local resident. The male victim was pronounced dead
by personnel of the Los Angeles City Fire Department. The deceased
has been identified as a thirty-five year old resident of Arleta.
His name will not be released pending notification of the next of
kin.
