New Plan to Reduce Future Disaster Risk

The City of Los Angeles announces the completion of its draft Local
Hazard Mitigation Plan. This step in a long-range planning effort
is to identify local hazards and vulnerabilities and actions to
reduce potential impact from future disasters. The comprehensive
plan is the culmination of a year-long effort by the Local Hazard
Mitigation Task Force, led by the City’s Emergency Preparedness
Department. More than thirty City Departments, outside agencies
and community-based organizations are active members of the Task
Force that meet on a monthly basis.
