Browns Recruitment Advisory Committee Candidates - list attached
WHAT: In efforts to further diversify the LAPD and enhance
the public safety of Los Angeles, Mayor Jim Hahn, Police Commission
President David S. Cunningham, III, and Chief William Bratton will
introduce the candidates named to the "Recruitment Advisory Committee."
Approval of the committee and its mission will be considered at
the Police Commission meeting on June 22, 2004.
WHY: The Los Angeles Police Department has traditionally
utilized in-house resources to recruit new officers. In light of
the extensive outside resources with recruitment expertise available
to provide pro-bono advice on an on-going basis, committee members
will greatly enhance the Department's ability to reach LAPD officer
candidates who will reflect the diversity of the City of Los Angeles.
