Deputy
Auxiliary Police (DAP) Program
LAPD's
Juvenile Division
The DAP Program
introduces youth to life experiences normally not available to
them due to their social and economic status. Additionally, the
DAP Program introduces youth to the field of law enforcement and
provides physical and mental preparation necessary to make the
transition from DAP to the Explorer Program, and other Department-sponsored
youth programs. The association with police officers develops
a sense of ethics, values and skills that will mature a young
person into a constructive, responsible, and productive member
of the community.
