High Court Condemns Conduct of Prosecutor
SAN FRANCISCO - The California Supreme Court, condemning a Los Angeles
County deputy district attorney's conduct in a death penalty case,
ruled Thursday that prosecutors should not intentionally tell different
juries that two defendants committed the same crime when only one
could have been responsible.

for their records as state assemblymen. Villaraigosa takes on Hahn
for "corruption in his administration." And Hertzberg
dismisses Hahn's latest television ad as "another Jim Hahn
excuse."

LAPD detectives cleared in fatal salon shooting
Three police detectives have been cleared of wrongdoing in the fatal
shooting of two robbery suspects in 2003, and no handguns were found
on the suspects despite the officers' claims of seeing the weapons,
officials said.

State may probe charter schools
SACRAMENTO -- Six months after the state's largest charter school
collapsed amid a state investigation into its finances, education
