American Red Cross - DHS
The American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles is part of a Department
of Homeland Security (DHS) pilot program to bring awareness and
provide training about the unique challenges and environments that
all of us would face in providing essential human services during a
Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) event, and how such an event would
differ from a natural disaster response.
Thirty metro areas across the country were selected to participate in
this program, including Los Angeles.
The training program consists of six web-based courses, each focusing
on a specific aspect of the human services response during a disaster.
