Fireworks -- all over LA County

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Where are YOU seeing 4th of July fireworks this year?
from the LA County Fire Departments
Ever since Santa Monica banned fireworks years ago, it has become increasing difficult to find a great fireworks show in the Los Angeles area.
Below you'll find a list of show locations and schedules for 2009 fireworks shows in the Los Angeles County area.
We wish everyone a safe and happy July 4th.
July 4th fireworks will be seen all around LA County
But first .. a bit about: FIREWORKS SAFETY
  • Never allow anyone under the age of 16 to light fireworks.
  • Use outdoor only and away from buildings or dry grass.
  • Never point fireworks at another person.
  • Keep others at a safe distance.
  • Light one at a time and move away quickly.
  • Never attempt to relight or fix malfunctioning fireworks.
  • Have a bucket of water handy for emergencies
With the Fourth of July just days away, the Los Angeles Fire Department is reminding Angelenos of the dangers of fireworks and urging everyone to attend professional firework shows rather than holding their own illegal demonstrations.
Fireworks are banned in Los Angeles city and all of the county's unincorporated areas, as well as the 26 cities served by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A list of cities where "safe and sane" fireworks are allowed can be viewed at www.fire.lacounty.gov or by calling 888-654-FIRE.
LAFD Chief Douglas Barry warned the public not to stage their own fireworks as various communities cut down their shows due to budget cuts.
"We certainly don't want any fires started in areas where you know we have fire season year around because of the drought," said Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca at a news conference earlier this week.
In 2006, 11 people died and an estimated 9,200 were treated in the emergency department for firework-related injuries in the United States, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Fireworks Shows in Los Angeles County
NOTE:  Shows are listed by date.  This info is provided as a public service.  The LAFD does not sponsor any of the shows listed.  Thank you.
