But police don't know if the 12-year-old went with the man willingly.

When asked if Brittany was abducted during a press conference Tuesday, Roanoke County Police Chief Ray Lavinder answered that they feel confident that she is with Jeffrey Scott Easley.

"We believe that she's with him, and we're not exactly sure about the situation," Lavinder said.

Brittany is believed to be with the 32-year-old Easley, a friend of Brittany's mother, whom the woman met online.

The image was recorded Friday night between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m., according to police.

Authorities say Easley used Tina Smith's credit card to purchase items in the store. Salem police have issued warrants for Easley for credit card fraud and credit card larceny, reports CBS affiliate WDBJ.

Police say Brittany is still in grave danger and are appealing to her friends for information.

According to WDBJ, Easley moved into Tina Smith's home in October.

Tina Smith was found dead Monday in her home.

Easley has family in eastern North Carolina and Alabama. Police are checking in both areas for any recent sightings of Easley.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Roanoke County Police Department at 540-562-3265 or the Virginia State Police at 800-822-4453.
