July 14, 2011 - ICE makes arrests and seizes cultural artifacts stolen from Egypt

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents dismantled an organization responsible for conspiring to smuggle Egyptian, Middle Eastern and Asian antiquities into the United States. Three individuals were arrested in conjunction with the smuggling operation. One individual is still a fugitive.

July 13, 2011 - ICE seizes 2,300 pounds of marijuana with a street value of more than $2 million

ICE HSI special agents seized 2,300 pounds of marijuana from a tractor trailer parked on Interstate 44 near St. Louis. In the trailer, they located a hidden compartment where several dozen, large burlap bags were found. The bags contained marijuana with a street value of more than $2 million.

July 12, 2011 - ICE removes former member of Guatemalan army linked to 1980s massacre

This week, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers deported Pimentel Rios, a former member of the Guatemalan army. Witnesses say Rios participated in a massacre that claimed at least 162 lives in Guatemala in 1982.

July 11, 2011 - ICE arrests Florida's most wanted fugitive in Waco, Texas

ICE ERO officers arrested Jose Fernando Aguirre-Jaramillo, a fugitive on the Florida Department of Correction' Most Wanted list, in Waco, Texas. He was wanted in Hardee County, Fla., on rape charges.

July 11, 2011 - United States, Mexico resume voluntary interior repatriation program

The Mexican Interior Repatriation Program (MIRP) - a bilateral, voluntary program that ensures the safe return of Mexican nationals found to be unlawfully in the Sonora Arizona desert region of the United States - resumed for the eighth consecutive summer. This year's first repatriation flight departed Tucson International Airport Monday.
