Aug. 18, 2011 — ICE and CBP return 67 artifacts to the Dominican Republic
A collection of 67 artifacts illegally imported into the United States were returned to the Dominican Republic during a joint repatriation ceremony in Santo Domingo on Thursday. The repatriation of these artifacts is the result of several investigations and seizures conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Aug. 16, 2011 — HSI shuts down Arizona smuggling tunnel
On Tuesday, an active drug smuggling tunnel was shut down in Nogales, Ariz., following an investigation led by HSI. Agents identified the tunnel after seizing more than 2,600 pounds of marijuana from three suspected drug smugglers, all of whom are facing federal drug charges.

An investigation by HSI led to an Iranian national being sentenced to more than four years in prison for trying to illegally export missile components to Iran.

Aug. 15, 2011 — Guatemalan national sentenced to 24 months for illegally re-entering the US
A Guatemalan national was sentenced to two years in federal prison for illegally re-entering the United States following his apprehension by officers with ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). ERO had removed the man from the United States on two separate occasions. In addition to his repeated illegal returns, his criminal history includes convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol, public intoxication, theft and possession of a forged document.
