March 22, 2012 — Canadian man sentenced for alien smuggling

A Canadian man has been sentenced to one year in federal prison after pleading guilty to alien smuggling. This sentence is a result of an investigation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

March 21, 2012 — Avery Biomedical Devices Inc. becomes the latest IMAGE partner

A Long Island, N.Y., biomedical company has partnered with ICE by joining the agency's employment compliance program, IMAGE or "ICE Mutual Agreement between Government and Employers." Businesses that partner with ICE through the IMAGE program maintain a secure and stable workforce, and curtail the employment of unauthorized workers through outreach and education.

March 21, 2012 — ICE announces selection of HSI special agent in charge in New Jersey

ICE has announced that HSI Special Agent Andrew McLees was selected to assume command as the agency's top investigator in New Jersey. McLees served as the acting special agent in charge of HSI Newark, before this announcement.

March 22, 2012 — Wanted Brazilian national deported from the US

Earlier this week, a Brazilian national residing in Bridgeport, Conn., who was wanted in his home country for his involvement in a double homicide, was turned over to Brazilian law enforcement authorities in Rio de Janeiro. He was removed from the United States by officers with ICE's Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO). ERO identified the individual through a law enforcement tip from the Bridgeport Police Department.

March 20, 2012 — ICE ERO deports convicted child predator wanted in Canada for child sex crimes

A Canadian national wanted on sexual assault and child pornography charges in his home country, was deported and turned over to Canadian law enforcement officials this week by officers with ICE's ERO.
