May 2, 2012 — Leader in alien smuggling ring sentenced to 18 years in prison
A 27-year-old southwest Texas man was sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for alien smuggling that resulted in the death of a Honduran national. The case was investigated by HSI with the assistance of U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Border Patrol.

Bandit crews, mostly found in Arizona's most remote areas, brandishing firearms and bullet-proof vests, are on the hunt for weapons traffickers or drug smugglers. They're not law enforcement officers; they're criminals who will do anything to make a profit, which often means murdering and stealing from other criminals in the desert.

May 1, 2012 — Texas man sentenced to more than 17 years in prison for producing child pornography
A Texas man has been sentenced to 210 months in prison following his conviction for producing child pornography. This sentencing was the result of an investigation conducted by HSI, in conjunction with the Corpus Christi Police Department's (CCPD) Internet Crimes against Children Task Force (ICAC).

April 30, 2012 — ICE arrests 13 during enforcement operation targeting convicted criminal aliens in the Boston-area
During a two-day targeted enforcement operation in the Boston area, officers with ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations ( ERO ) arrested 13 convicted criminal aliens. All 13 individuals taken into custody had prior criminal convictions, many for serious or violent offenses.
