June 28, 2012 — United Technologies subsidiary pleads guilty to criminal charges for helping China develop attack helicopter
Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp., a Canadian subsidiary of the Connecticut-based defense contractor United Technologies Corporation, pleaded guilty this week to violating the Arms Export Control Act and making false statements in connection with its illegal export to China of U.S.-origin military software used in the development of China's first modern military attack helicopter, the Z-10. An extensive investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) led to the guilty plea.

June 28, 2012 — South Texas woman sentenced to 30 months in prison for human smuggling
A South Texas woman was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison Thursday for her role in a conspiracy to transport and harbor illegal aliens. In 2011, HSI special agents executed a search warrant at her residence and discovered 16 illegal aliens who had arranged to be smuggled to various parts of the United States. They also linked her to a group of illegal aliens discovered in the brush by U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Border Patrol.

June 27, 2012 — Former Peace Corps volunteer admits sexually abusing children in South Africa
A Connecticut man pleaded guilty this week to traveling from the United States to South Africa to engage in illicit sexual conduct with children. While serving in the Peace Corps in South Africa, he enticed four young girls, all of whom were under 6 years old, to engage in illicit sexual acts with him. He now faces up to 30 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. The guilty plea resulted from an HSI investigation.

June 27, 2012 — 22 charged in multi-state scheme to obtain real driver's licenses with fraudulent documents
Twenty-two individuals were charged and arrests were made in six states Wednesday in connection with an alleged scheme to fraudulently obtain driver's licenses for illegal aliens and other ineligible individuals. The investigation was conducted by HSI and several other federal, state and local agencies.

June 25, 2012 — 2 Mexican nationals plead guilty to transporting illegal aliens within United States
Two Mexican nationals pleaded guilty in federal court for transporting illegal aliens. They transported 14 illegal aliens from Texas to West Virginia in a Nissan Armada. They were en route to New Jersey.
