Public's Help Sought In Search For Hollywood Burglary Suspect
Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man suspected in a Hollywood break-in. A LAPD spokesperson says a burglar entered a closed business in the 6400 block of West Sunset Boulevard on Dec. 7, taking “a large amount of currency from the property.”

Apple Valley man killed by deputies was former CHP officer
An Apple Valley man who was killed by San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies has been identified as a former California Highway Patrol officer. Francis Murphy Rose III, 42, was shot and killed about 6:21 p.m. Monday after he fired shots at deputies in a San Bernardino sheriff's helicopter in Apple Valley, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Man Accused of Trying to Hit Deputy With Stolen Truck Surrenders After Standoff in Newhall
A man accused of trying to use a stolen landscaping truck to run over a deputy in earlier in the day, prompting the deputy to fire at the vehicle, was arrested Monday night after barricading himself inside a home in Newhall.The earlier incident, described by authorities as a “non-hit shooting,” took place at about 8:46 a.m., according to a Sheriff's Department tweet. After a search that lasted several hours, the man escaped a perimeter that was set up to try to catch him.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Releases 'Active Shooter' Training Video
The Los Angeles County (Calif.) Sheriff's Department recently released a video advising people how to respond in the event of a shooting rampage. Called "Surviving an Active Shooter," the video points out that there are an average of 20 mass shooting events in the U.S. every year. The video portrays (in graphic detail) how shooters target their victims and what you can do to minimize your chance of becoming a victim.

Police released surveillance video and a sketch to the public Tuesday in hopes of identifying a man wanted in connection with a stabbing that took place in Seal Beach in October. The stabbing occurred on the northeast corner of 8th Street and Ocean Avenue (map) at about 3:45 a.m. on Oct. 5, 2014.

Thieves ransacked a church in Reseda and stole money that was to be used to fund a children's camp.The burglars made off with $1,200, credit cards, laptops and even the keys to the church van following the raid at Metro Valley Church, which occured between the late hours or Monday and early Tuesday.
