LAPD Investigates Officer-Involved Shooting In South LA
A suspect was wounded Thursday in an officer-involved shooting with police in South Los Angeles. The suspect was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. The shooting occurred shortly after 3 p.m. in the area of 91st Street and Central Avenue, according to LAPD Media Relations.

62-Year-Old Housekeeper Fights Off Man Who Tried to Sexually Assault Her in Granada Hills; Suspect Arrested
A man sought in the attempted sexual assault of a 62-year-old housekeeper at a home in Granada Hills was arrested Thursday night. The incident occurred about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 16800 block of San Jose Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The man told the woman that he wanted to speak to her about a recent break-in in the area, according to a flier distributed at an LAPD news conference downtown Thursday.

Police release surveillance video of fatal Echo Park stabbing
Police released a surveillance video in an effort to capture the suspects who fatally stabbed a 23-year-old man in June after he walked out of a liquor store on the southern edge of Echo Park. Lazo, who was stabbed with an unknown object, was declared dead at the scene, police said. LAPD said the motive for the crime remains unknown, and the suspects remain at large. “Detectives are releasing surveillance video of the vicious attack in hopes that someone may have information which would assist in solving this crime,” according to an LAPD press release.

Boy, 17, Shot To Death In Pacoima
The public's help was sought Thursday to identify and arrest the person who fatally shot a 17-year-old boy and wounded an 18-year-old woman. Officers were called to the intersection of Terra Bella Street and Bromont Avenue in Pacoima Tuesday at about 9 p.m. on the report of a shooting, Los Angeles police officials said.

Salesman Robbed Of Cash, $750K Of Jewelry During Heist In LA Parking Lot
Detectives sought the public's help on Friday to locate two suspects who robbed a salesman of cash and jewelry in a parking lot overnight. Around 6 p.m. on Thursday, a salesman was in the process of moving property in a parking lot located within the 8600 block of West Pico Boulevard near Shenandoah, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

CHP Officer Fires on Stolen Car That Fled Traffic Stop, Backed Over Motorcycle; 2 Arrested
A CHP motorcycle officer opened fire on stolen-car driver who fled and then tried to run the officer over in Downey on Thursday morning, according to the Highway Patrol. The driver and his passenger were arrested, but it was not clear if they were injured. The motor officer was not hurt. The incident began about 8 a.m. with a routine traffic stop for a minor moving violation on the northbound 605 Freeway at Imperial Highway, according to a CHP Southern Division news release.

Suspect Captured in Louisiana Officer's Death
Authorities captured the suspect in the fatal shooting of a Louisiana police officer Thursday afternoon. Grover D. Cannon was arrested at a home on Jackson Street in Shreveport a day after he allegedly killed 29-year-old Officer Thomas LaValley, according to KTBS-TV. Cannon faces a first-degree murder LaValley's death and was also wanted for attempted murder in connection with a shooting in July.
