City attorney secures injunction against alleged drug den
Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer's office has secured the closure of a gang-controlled duplex in south Los Angeles after the property owners' continued failure to stop ongoing heroin trafficking. “For too long, this property has been the epicenter of drugs and criminal activity in this community,” Feuer said. “Shutting it down demonstrates we'll take decisive action to protect health and safety in our neighborhoods.”

Suspects Sought In Fatal Shooting In Winnetka, Deadly Stabbing In Lynwood
Two killers are on the loose in the Southland Saturday evening.The LAPD's Homicide Detective Bureau is asking the public to help them find the suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old man in Winnetka Saturday. Around 1:08 p.m. Topanga patrol officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 20300 block of Cantara Street. When officers arrived they found the victim — a white male resident of Winnetka — inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound.

Tarantino's ‘Hateful Eight' Opens Without Any Controversy Or Boycott
Quentin Tarantino's “Hateful Eight” opened in Hollywood Friday — without a lot of haters present. The film is under fire nationally by police unions and organizations and in Los Angeles locally from the LA Police Protective League. — all calling for a boycott of the film. KCAL9's Political Reporter Dave Bryan was outside the ArcLight in Hollywood Friday evening. He saw no protesters, no signs.

Man fatally shot in Hollywood Hills, investigation underway
A 20-year-old man was fatally shot in the Hollywood Hills area Sunday night, Los Angeles police said. The shooting happened at 8:40 p.m. on Camrose Drive and Sycamore Avenue, according to authorities from the LAPD Hollywood Division. The unidentified man had a gunshot wound to the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bail Set at $1 Million For Man Accused of Setting Woman on Fire on Christmas Day
A man accused of soaking a woman in flammable liquid and lighting her on fire on Christmas Day was arrested Sunday and his bail amount was set at $1 million, officials said. The man, identified by authorities as Clarence Duwell Dear, 51, was taken into custody after Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies and Pasadena police received a tip that the suspect may have boarded a Metro bus in Pasadena .

New 2016 Traffic-Related Laws Slated to Take Effect in California on Jan. 1
A new year is just days away, and with it comes several new traffic-related laws designed to directly impact motorists and bicyclists.These laws, covering everything from hit-and-run, to DUI and electronically motorized boards, were signed by Gov. Jerry Brown during the 2015 legislative session. They are poised to go into effect on Jan. 1, 2016.
