Delaware Sergeant Suffers Fatal Heart Attack On Duty
A Delaware constable died from a heart attack after responding to a call about a disorderly hospital patient. Sgt. Michael Robinson, 48, collapsed while responding to help Wilmington Hospital nursing staff deal with the combative patient Oct. 12, the Officer Down Memorial Page reports.

Riverside Deputy Who Survived Being Shot In Desert Returns To Work
Coachella sheriff's Deputy David Solis, who was shot earlier this year while chasing a fleeing suspect, has returned to work full-time, the sheriff's department said Thursday. Solis was shot multiple times the night of May 25 while conducting a traffic stop near Harrison and First streets. NBC 4 |

Gunman Asks Victim In Pacoima ‘Frivolous Question,' Then Opens Fire
A man was shot and wounded early Friday in Pacoima, police said. The shooting was reported around 12:30 a.m. in the area of Montague Street and Glenoaks Boulevard, said an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department Foothill Division. The officer said the gunman approached and asked a “frivolous question” before firing on the man and then fleeing the scene.

Woman Attacked From Behind, Sexually Assaulted While Jogging In Van Nuys
Help is needed to find a man who sexually assaulted a woman jogging in Van Nuys. The attack happened Thursday at 6:07 a.m. in the area of Fulton Avenue and Hatteras Street. Police say a woman was jogging southbound on Fulton Avenue when she was grabbed from behind by a man.

Convicted Rapist Pleads Not Guilty To Attacking 2 Women ?
A convicted rapist pleaded not guilty today to charges he attacked two women who accepted a ride in his car on separate occasions less than two years apart. Enefiok Joseph Edem Jr., 33, of Van Nuys, is charged with one count each of forcible rape, kidnapping to commit a sexual assault, sexual battery by restraint, assault with intent to commit a sex crime and attempted forcible rape, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Serial Burglary Suspect Sought In West LA
Police have released surveillance video of a suspect who investigators believe is responsible for at least seven residential and auto burglaries in the West Los Angeles area. The suspect has been recorded wearing a ski mask and disabling cameras before forcing entry into apartment buildings.

Las Vegas Shooter's Brother Bruce Paddock's Child Porn Arraignment Delayed Due To Medical Issue
A brother of the Las Vegas mass killer was ordered Thursday to remain jailed in Los Angeles in lieu of $60,000 bail while facing felony charges of possessing hundreds of images of child or youth pornography. Superior Court Judge Gustavo N. Sztraicher agreed to postpone arraignment until Friday for Bruce Douglas Paddock, 58, who has an unspecified medical issue and did not appear in the downtown Los Angeles courtroom.

Man Sentenced To Life In Prison For Killing Wife, Gay Son
A North Hills man who stabbed his wife and shot his gay son has been sentenced to life in prison without chance of parole. Seventy-one-year-old Shehadeh Khalil Issa was sentenced Thursday for last year's attacks at his North Hills home. Jurors convicted him last month of premeditated murder. Amier Issa's body was found outside the home.

The Investigation Into The Massive La Tuna Fire Has Been Closed. The Cause Remains A Mystery
A cause of the biggest fire by acreage in the city of Los Angeles in more than 50 years was never found. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Peter Sanders said the La Tuna fire — which burned 7,194 acres around the Verdugo Mountains — was listed as “undetermined” but not suspicious in nature. Bottom line: No final cause.
