NYPD Officer Who Shot, Apprehended Truck Suspect Identified
The New York police officer who shot and apprehended the suspect in Tuesday's terrorist attack has been identified as Ryan Nash, a law enforcement source tells CNN. Nash, 28, works in the NYPD's 1st precinct, and joined the department in 2012. Nash is now part of the investigation, which is being conducted jointly by the NYPD and the FBI.

A proposal seeking to give California inmates and parolees the right to vote is hoping to qualify for the November 2018 ballot. Secretary of State Alex Padilla gave the greenlight Monday to allow proponents of the California Right to Vote of Convicted Felons Initiative to start gathering signatures."After prop 47, prop 57 and AB 109, this is just another one of these hug a criminal initiatives," Harris said. "California should just roll out the red carpet for every wanna be crook in the nation. This is an affront to victims and to every law abiding citizen of this state."

Skateboarder Shot To Death In Arleta Is Identified
Authorities released the name today of a skateboarder who was fatally shot in Arleta. The shooting took place about 3:40 p.m. Sunday in the 9900 block of Stanwin Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The skateboarder, Angel Maciel, 28,was transported to a hospital where he later died, the coroner's office reported.

Parent Who Held Teacher Hostage At Elementary School Killed By Police After Tense Standoff
SWAT officers on Tuesday evening swarmed a Riverside elementary school classroom and shot a parent who had taken a teacher hostage, ending an hours-long standoff. The parent, identified as Luvelle Kennon, 27, of Riverside died later at a hospital, said Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback.
