Missouri Officer Badly Injured In Crash Returns From Rehab Center
A St. Louis police officer who was badly injured in a car crash in March returned to St. Louis on Wednesday from a rehabilitation center in Nebraska. Officer Gary Glasby was injured while on patrol in St. Louis on March 17. His patrol car collided with a pickup while turning south on Broadway from Chambers Street, north of downtown.

Three Wounded In Shooting Near Downtown LA
Three people were shot and wounded Thursday in the Pico-Union neighborhood southwest of downtown Los Angeles, and a suspect was being sought. The shooting occurred before 12:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Bonnie Brae Street, according to Los Angeles police.

Hit-And-Run Big Rig: Woman Searching For Lost Pet Killed In Boyle Heights A woman was killed when she was run over by a big rig while looking under the truck for a pet that got loose in Boyle Heights. The fatality was reported Thursday evening in the area of Union Pacific Avenue and Calzona Street, according to Sgt. Roy Escalante of the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Traffic Bureau.

LAPD Holiday Checkpoints And Patrols Set For San Fernando Valley
The Los Angeles Police Department has set its schedule for DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols starting Saturday and continuing through Dec. 31 in the San Fernando Valley. Saturation patrols are when officers hit the streets to search of motorists who are under the influence. The first batch of driving under the influence and driver's license checkpoints are Saturday in Sherman Oaks and Studio City.

Police Warn Of Thieves Stealing Holiday Deliveries From Porches With the holidays in full swing, authorities are warning people having packages delivered to their homes to be wary of porch thieves. One suspected thief was arrested in Burbank on Thursday evening after a witness in the 4200 block of Woodland Avenue called police about a suspicious man who appeared to be casing the neighborhood.

Human Remains Found In Grand Canyon Likely Those Of Missing Los Angeles Man, Officials Say
The remains of a 72-year-old man from Los Angeles who vanished in the Grand Canyon more than six months ago are believed to have been found, National Park Service officials said Thursday. A river rafting group was on a day hike up the Monument Creek drainage on Wednesday when they discovered human remains.
