Congress Question
Congress of Neighborhoods - Roundtable Discussion Groups
We have been discussing with Neighborhood Council leaders over the
last several months the value of setting aside a few rooms at the
next Congress of Neighborhoods so that Neighborhood Council leaders
could meet among themselves to discuss particular matters, share
best practices, etc. Example: how to best communicate with stakeholders,
how to run an election.
We’ve done this at the other Congresses.
Neighborhood Council leaders are all over the map on this one. Some
felt that these roundtable discussions were not helpful because
too many people just talked about things that worked for them, and
their information wasn’t helpful to others.
Others felt the discussions either were or could be valuable learning
experiences.
As we find ourselves finalizing the program for the next Congress
of Neighborhoods, I would like to hear from you if you believe that
rooms should be set aside for such discussions. And, if yes, which
subjects do you feel would be most valuable?
Space and time are limited.
