Re: Early Notification of Item that may be Discussed at BONC
Meeting
At its meeting last Tuesday, the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners
heard a verbal report from me on the Neighborhood Councils that
have not had their first election in the last six months.
During that general discussion, a motion was made that the commission
consider inviting the Neighborhood Councils that have gone a year
without having an election, and that don’t have any concrete plans
to have an election, to come to a future a meeting(s) and discuss
the problems they are having.
As you probably know, this new proposal could not be discussed when
it was made. You can expect that this motion will be on the agenda
for the commission’s next meeting on October 7, 6:30 p.m., University
Senior High School, 11800 Texas Avenue. If you subscribe through
ENS to receive these agendas, you should receive this one on Friday.
If the commission follows its traditional order, this motion will
be discussed following the certification application from the West
Los Angeles Neighborhood Council.
At this meeting, the commission may decide to invite some Neighborhood
Councils to appear at a future meeting(s). Three Neighborhood Councils
(Old Northridge, South Robertson, and Valley Glen) have passed the
one year mark, and Greater Cypress Park is getting near.
