Mayor Hahn Announces New Mayor's Office of Operations
Unveils reorganization plan for neighborhood-based government

As part of Mayor Hahn's commitment to develop a more efficient and neighborhood-based city government, today he announced the creation of the Mayor's Office of Operations.

The Mayor's Office of Operations will monitor, assess and coordinate department performance to ensure efficient city-wide service. Local Neighborhood City Halls will collaborate with community members to address neighborhood concerns, while technological developments will streamline city government and improve service delivery systems.

"I am committed to making sure that city government is working every day to improve our neighborhoods. My new Office of Operations will increase the coordination with city departments to make sure we are working efficiently to bring services to neighborhoods," said Mayor Hahn. "This reorganization will also allow us to work more closely with neighborhood councils and other community leaders to help us meet the needs of each of our unique neighborhoods."

Mayor Hahn has named Doane Liu as the Deputy Mayor for Operations. Liu will be responsible for coordinating TeamWork LA, developing 311 and other e-government initiatives, developing Neighborhood City Halls and serving as a liaison to the Mayor's Neighborhood Service Cabinets.

Fundamental to the Mayor's Office of Operations is the TeamWork LA program, a 10-point plan to make government more efficient and neighborhood-based. Through TeamWork LA, city services will be coordinated by seven geographically-based city Department "Cabinets" that consist of representatives from city departments with the highest service requests. These departments include the Police Department, the Department of Public Works, Building and Safety, and the Department of Transportation (DOT).

TeamWork LA will facilitate neighborhood City Halls in each of the seven service districts, to be staffed with Neighborhood Service Managers and accountable for city services within the area.
