Neighborhood Council - quick things

We'll use this page of "quick things" as a technique to keep you informed of relevant and important Neighborhood Council information and events, while we'll continue to maintain the significant BONC / DONE section on the LACP website (always available near the top of the front page under the heading Neighborhood Councils).

LACP believes the continued presence of Neighborhood Council on the site is beneficial to those who are concerned with the discussion about crime, public safety and quality of life issues in Los Angeles.

Below you'll find some recent "quick things" ...

Congress of Neighborhoods Planning Meeting

Dear Neighborhood Council Leaders:

The Department would like to invite you to join other city stakeholders to assist in the planning of the next Congress of Neighborhoods, which will take place on Saturday, April 5th at the Convention Center all day long starting at 9am. A planning meeting will be held next Thursday, February 6th from 6:30 to 8:30pm at City Hall, Conference Rm. 1050. Parking arrangements can be made for you at City Hall if you do not have the parking passes issued by DONE. We hope at least one of you can come from each of your respective neighborhood councils. Please let me know who will be able to make it or not by next Monday at noon. If none of you from this email list can make it, perhaps you can ask other neighborhood council participants to attend.

DONE planned the entire Congress last Fall for being the first one. With the experience of that first Congress, the Department would like to see the neighborhood councils take an active role in planning the future congresses to ensure that these twice-a-year citywide events deal with the issues and needs of the neighborhood councils.

Best regards,

Melvin A. Caņas

Aging would like to set up a meeting with your Neighborhood Council to introduce you to the services provided by the City of Los Angeles Department of Aging and to explore ways we can better serve you and your local community.
