Subject: DONE City Attorney Opinion 2004:7 - Political Reform Act

Later this evening, our Web site's home page will include a formal City Attorney opinion that was just released.

The opinion is important because it is the first in a series of opinions that will address issues raised by Neighborhood Councils in regard to various laws that affect them.

Opinion 2004:7 addresses the state's Political Reform Act -- the law that defines financial conflicts of interest and requires certain people to list their financial conflicts on Form 700.

This opinion will be discussed by the City Council's Education and Neighborhood Committee on Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at 2 p.m. on the 10th Floor of City Hall. The clerk of the committee is Miranda Paster, mpaster@clerk.lacity.org or (213) 978-1076 or 311.
