MAYORAL DEBATES GETTING CLOSER.
BONC MEETING
REPORTS AVAILABLE ONLINE
We still may
be the only commission to do it, but the staff reports for the Board
of Neighborhood Commissioners meeting on January 25, 2005 are available
on our home page. The new goal is to allow you to click on the agenda
item and be taken to the report. If that doesnt work, you
can get there by clicking on Commission at the top of the page,
and then on Staff Reports.
E&N COMMITTEE
REPORT ONLINE
Also on our
home page later tonight will be our staff report to the Education
and Neighborhoods Committee that proposes support for Councilman
Dennis Zines motion to allow Neighborhood Councils to use
its city money to make grants to individuals or nonprofit organizations.
This is called the Neighborhood Purposes Grant report.
MAYORAL DEBATE
GETTING CLOSER
For those of
you who yearn for an evening of discussion about Neighborhood Councils
by the mayoral candidates, dont forget that the first of two
debates is set for February 7 at 8:00 p.m. on KCAL Channel 9. The
second one will be on February 28 at 6:30 p.m. on KCBS Channel 2.
Each will be 90 minutes long (or short) depending on your perspective.
They will be
also be broadcast live on KFWB (980 AM) radio, and streamed over
the Internet on the KCBS and KCAL websites. They will also be broadcast
via tape delay on Channel 36.
The debates
are sponsored by and produced by the Citywide Alliance of Neighborhood
Councils, CityWatch (both nonprofits) and the two television stations.
