Re: PLAN TO ATTEND THE CONGRESS ON JUNE 25.

More than ever before, the upcoming Congress of Neighborhoods has been designed and planned by the Neighborhood Council leaders themselves in a series of meetings.

It will be June 25 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. You can take a lot at the schedule of events by going to our home page and clicking on the Congress of Neighborhoods box on the left, or by clicking here. We will be announcing enhancements to the event as we get closer to June 25.

The Neighborhood Councils selected the theme “Empowerment: Taking it to the Next Level.”

And that will become apparent if you attend the workshop describing the written agreements that the Neighborhood Councils are entering into with City departments, creative and powerful uses of Neighborhood Council funds, strategies to reach out and engage stakeholders, involving the youth, and ways that Neighborhood Councils can begin meeting as a true Congress – one that takes formal positions as a citywide family of neighborhoods.
