Re: THE
NEW MAYOR. NEIGHBORHOOD CAFÉ VIDEOS AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET.
THE NEW MAYOR
Having been
through the installation of three other new mayoral administrations,
I can only tell you what has been the past practice. A new mayor
will often form a transition team to help with the difficult process
of getting started. The first step is usually to select the senior
staff, then to appoint new people to serve on the high-profile and
high-impact commissions.
In past CityWatch
newsletters, it has been suggested that its time for Neighborhood
Councils to get serious about making recommendations to the mayor
about folks they would like to see on city commissions. Clearly,
the arrival of a new mayor presents a monumental opportunity for
Neighborhood Councils to try and impact this important aspect of
city government.
When I know
more about where suggestions should be sent, I will let you know.
