NEIGHBORHOOD
COUNCIL INITIATIVES REPORT RELEASED
Later today
our home page will include a report that I wrote to the Education
and Neighborhoods Committee, at its request, regarding the possible
City Council approval of a new procedure that would allow Neighborhood
Councils to pass a motion calling for City Council discussion of
a new citywide or regional matter, and thereby cause an official
City Council file to be created and referred to committee without
requiring a motion from City Council members.
You can expect
that this matter will be considered again by the Education and Neighborhoods
Committee on June 21, but you should subscribe through the citys
Early Notification System to receive the agendas for that committee
just to make sure.
The Board of
Neighborhood Commissioners will have an opportunity to discuss and
provide comments on this matter at its meeting on June 7 in Room
1010 of City Hall at 6:30 p.m. A cover letter report
to the commission will be posted on our website on Tuesday.
CONGRESS PHOTOS
AVAILABLE
Were a
little late on posting the photographs from last Octobers
Congress of Neighborhoods. We switched to a different system that
allows anyone in the office (not just the systems people) to post
the photographs. It will all be much quicker now.
When you find
the photo you want to save, right click it and choose Save Picture
As, and find a place on your computer to save it. After a while
well cull out the somewhat duplicate photos and just leave
the award-winners.
Click
here to view the photos, or go to Reference Library>Photo
Gallery. Here you will also find photos from the separate Budget
Day that was held at the same time.
