VIEWINGTHIS NEWSLETTER
If this newsletter looks like one big sentence because it's missing paragraph breaks, the trick is to set your e-mail system so that it reads messages in HTML and not Plain Text.
In you are using GroupWise here are the steps: While in GroupWise, click on Tools>Options>Environment>Views and make sure that at least you have selected “HTML” not “Plain Text” in the Read Option area.
We're experimenting with other solutions. This is caused by flaw in MS Word.
REMINDER: BUDGET DAY CANCELLED
In the May 26 newsletter, we informed you we, on our own, had cancelled the June 11 Budget Day meeting at the Convention Center. It's still cancelled.
Although some people were angry with us for doing it, it seemed like the reasonable thing to do. June 11 was originally selected because everyone wanted to get started on the budgetary process earlier than in the past. That's commendable.
At this first meeting, the mayor's budget staff usually explains the process. No decisions are made. It's lot of educating and questions and answers. But with the change in the mayor's office, we knew that we wouldn't be able to answer most of people's questions about what will happen next.
Please don't stress out. There is still plenty of time for Neighborhood Councils to become involved in providing input for the 2006-07 budget.
We'll tell you more when we know it. Thanks for understanding.
