GREATER WILSHIRE DID IT!

After the ballots were counted, all 29,886 of them, the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council claimed the record with 2,245 voters, and they did that without any mail-in voting.

CONGRESS - MORE PRIZES ADDED

We've added three new prizes for the drawing at the end of the Congress.  Additionally, the two people and their guests who win the behind-the-scenes tour of LAX will also treated to lunch with the airport's Executive Director Kim Day.  For those of you, such as me, who often have trouble separately fiction from reality, she is the real-life Heather Locklear.

We have added:

“Bookworm Point of View”

You will enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour from the bookworm's point of view at Los Angeles ' famous Central Library.  You will marvel at the beauty of the 1926 historic Goodhue Building as you are led through a maze of art and architecture on this rare two-hour weekend tour for yourself and one guest. If it's true that knowledge is power, you'll meet some of the most powerful people in the city. A mutually agreeable time will be arranged for all 10 guests to tour the building together Five winners with one guest each.

You will be lit up with amazement when you see what's flashing in your direction as you and a guest take in the visual brightness of the Department of Transportation's Automated Traffic Surveillance and Control Center (ATSAC). Six winners with two guests each.

Los Angeles Assistant Chief of Police Jim McDonnell invites you to be part of the Los Angeles Police Academy Graduation Ceremony from the inside on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 8:00am . You will join the department's command staff at the VIP breakfast reception, and then sit on stage as the new recruits become officers.
