Re:
BUDGET DAY REMINDER
BUDGET DAY REMINDER, SATURDAY, JANUARY 19
This is a final reminder about the next step in the Budget Day process that will be held this Saturday at City Hall. The decision-making will be done by the official representatives from each Neighborhood Council, but the public is invited to attend.
This will be the follow-up to the October 1, 2005 Budget Day at which Mayor Villaraigosa highlighted the city’s budgetary goals and challenges, and asked community leaders to assist him in setting priorities.
On Saturday, Neighborhood Council budget representatives will:
Hear from the Mayor’s budget staff on:
the results of the community input,
where the budget process stands, and the next steps that we will take together.
Engage in regional discussions to determine budget priorities.
Select regional representatives -- 2 for each of the 7 regions in the city --
who speak with the Mayor in February about their regional messages.
Please note that the parking is different this time!
Enter Parking Lot 3
South on Los Angeles Street, between First and Temple Streets
After parking under City Hall East, go west across Main Street and enter the main City Hall from ground level.
Very shortly, our home page at www.LACityNeighborhoods.com will include the parking pass, a map to the parking area, and a map of City Hall’s third floor. No one will be turned away for lack of a parking pass. Please do not hesitate to contact your Department of Neighborhood Empowerment Advocate for more information, or send us an e-mail at
