We are pleased to announce the next segments of our Neighborhood Cafe program being aired on Channel 35.
July 03, 10am and 7:30pm - Leadership Through Community Involvement
Michele Siquieros, Board of Neighborhood Commissioner; Raul Estrada, Executive Director of El Centro de Ayuda; and Len Nguyen, Field Deputy for the 11th District, join us to share their views on how association with the neighborhood council system can give individuals the leadership skills to excel in other aspects of their lives.
July 10, 10am and 7:30pm - Youth & Neighborhood Councils-Narbonne High School Peer Mediation Program
We welcome Michael Feyder, President of Harbor City Neighborhood Council and Kevin Kennedy, Assistant Principal, Narbonne High School to share with us the exciting program sponsored by Harbor City Neighborhood Council that teaches students to resolve their differences peacefully through mediation by other students.
July 17, 10am and 7:30pm - Downtown Redevelopment
Carey Upton, Manager of the Los Angeles Theater and Brady Westwater, President of Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council, give us first peeks at the exciting restoration and revitalization happening to make Downtown LA a fashionable destination with posh entertainment venues, sophisticated dining, and an engaging art scene.
July 24, 10am and 7:30pm - Youth Involvement (Spanish)
Our host, Marco Perez and his guest, Taneda Jordan, youth activist, discuss why it is important for young people to be involved in neighborhood councils.
July 31, 10am and 7:30pm - Community Beautification and the Department of Public Works (Spanish)
On this show, Yolanda Fuentes, Board of Public Works Commissioner, and Martha Vaca from Department of Public Works Office of Community Beautification discuss the partnership that Public Works is seeking to create with neighborhood councils. Neighborhood councils can obtain the support and funds necessary for graffiti abatement, coummunity clean-ups and other beautification programs through the Office of Community Beautification.

Brad Pomerance leads the discussion with our guests, Tammy Membreño, Executive Director of the Barrio Action Youth and Family Center and Shannon Hoppes, Department of Neighborhood Empowerment staff member, on the successful collaboration between neighborhood councils and community based organizations.
