(Seating is Limited) For over 10 years, the Neighborhood Participation Project, a project of the Civic Engagement Initiative (CEI), has been researching the L.A. neighborhood councils and has produced a variety of publications targeted at neighborhood council volunteers, community leaders, city administrators and elected policymakers. On December 16, CEI will present key findings concerning the evolving institutions of civic engagement in Los Angeles. Following a plenary session, facilitated workshops will address important issues such as ensuring diversity in neighborhood participation, increasing capacity of neighborhood councils to govern, and improving the responsiveness of city administration to local needs.
For more information, please contact CEI at (213) 821-1511 or visit www.usc-cei.org
