Re: Red Flag Warnings from the Los Angeles Fire Department

The Los Angeles Fire Department takes pride in serving the City of Los Angeles. In the area of advance electronic notifications, the LAFD is diligently working to enhance its Red Flag Website. To secure contact information, device numbers and E-mail addresses stored in the Red Flag Website; the Department has enabled security features such as: password and E-mail confirmation.

When registering on the website: www.LAFD.ORG/REDFLAG, a potential client must go through the entire registration process. This process starts with the initial registration page where the client is asked for his/her first and last name, password, E-mail address, and zip code. Once the website gathers all the information, an E-mail is sent from the following address: LAFDRedflag@LACity.org. Once the client receives the E-mail from the Department he/she is asked to click on a link in the body of the E-mail to complete the registration. If the client does not confirm the registration via his/her E-mail address, the registration is marked for deletion in 30 days.

The Department advises its potential clients wanting E-mail advisories to update their spam filters to accept E-mails from LAFDRedflag@LACity.org and LAFDNOTISYS@LACITY.ORG .

Another registration option is to call 3-1-1, where the operators will verbally take your information and enter it into the notification system for you. The phone number 3-1-1 works only within the boundaries of the City of Los Angeles.
