“Wipe Out Wireless Waste” - Saturday, March 3rd
BRING YOUR OLD CELL PHONES TO CITY HALL SATURDAY, MARCH 3rd AS “WIPE OUT WIRELESS WASTE” MOBILIZES TO LOS ANGELES' GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP NATIONAL KICKOFF
LOS ANGELES (February 28, 2007) - Keep Los Angeles Beautiful announced today that Sprint Nextel, Keep America Beautiful and City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works are teaming up to “Wipe Out Wireless Waste” during the 2007 Great American Cleanup and will collect your old cell phones at the national kickoff event at Los Angeles City Hall on Saturday, March 3.
With Los Angeles in the top three cell phone usage markets and with more than 200 million wireless subscribers nationwide, the call to recycle old and discarded wireless cell phones is important to keep the environment free of wireless waste.
The “Wipe Out Wireless Waste” campaign will also distribute free postage paid mailing envelopes at the event. The net proceeds from every cell phone recycled during this campaign will be donated to the City of Los Angeles for community improvement and beautification efforts to Keep Los Angeles Beautiful.
