Keep Los Angeles Beautiful Advisory Board Update

Dear Neighborhood Council Member:
The Keep Los Angeles Beautiful Advisory Board is moving along magnificently. I wanted to report to you our progress and to seek your help with the litter index survey Wednesday October 3 rd .
Thus far Keep Los Angeles Beautiful (KLAB) has accomplished the following:
 Developed and implemented a successful Great American Clean Up Campaign March 3, 2007.
Received a 300,000 grant from Plastic Foodservice Packaging Group (PFPG) for two years to complete a public opinion survey on the reasons litter and graffiti permeate our communities. (Young men will probably be the focus as statistics from other cities indicate that they are responsible for a great percentage of litter)
KLAB posters around the city at bus stops and in the news media. |
Additionally, KLAB has received training from Keep America Beautiful (KAB) and will be conducting a trash survey through collaboration efforts of the American Chemistry Council . This litter index survey will be conducted on Wednesday October 3 rd . Those Neighborhood Council members who are available for the day to volunteer are welcome to assist with this. Please phone Paul Racs , Director of the Office of Beautification at 213-978-0229 . Your participation will be of service to your community.
