In order to help new and seasoned Neighborhood Council board members serve their communities effectively, the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment is offering a Board Orientation and Training for Board Members at 5:30pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2008. This training will be held in the auditorium at the Hollywood Community Center, 6501 Fountain Ave, Los Angeles.

The training will cover basic and advanced subjects pertinent to NC Board members and will include: directions on hosting open, public meetings as required by California's Brown Act; Conflict of Interest Rules; the Public Records Act; and the Neighborhood Council Funding Program.
