Re: Neighborhood Council Outreach Really Counts When It Comes to the City's Budget
Budget choices for fiscal year 2009-2010 are going to make a huge difference for the future of our City, and Neighborhood Councils are best positioned to help stakeholders express their budget priorities for what will be a tough year for the City's finances.
You can pick up on the momentum from the successful Citywide Congress of Neighborhoods and Mayor's Community Budget Day by letting your stakeholders know about this year's Budget Survey and helping to make sure that each of them fills out a survey to indicate their budget priorities.
Please hold local and regional budget information meetings, take budget surveys to your events, and ensure that all of your board members and at least 500 stakeholders from each of the City's Planning Areas fill out the surveys. Each year we hope to make certain that more people's voices are heard on budget priorities and that each of the City's neighborhoods is represented in the budget process.
