Check out these public reports

Dear Friend of the LA Fire Department:
Los Angeles area Fire Weather reports from our friends at the
National Weather Service are now being issued twice daily, at
9:30 AM and 3:30 PM. |
These public reports can be viewed throughout the day at:
http://www.lafd.org/firewx.htm
A
wealth of public Fire Weather information for most of Southern and
Central California can also be found on-line at:
http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/fire/south/fwx
Those
outside The Golden State or with a US national interest can find
public Fire Weather information little more than a click away from:
http://fire.boi.noaa.gov
Even
the most casual observer will note that conditions are ripe in many
parts of North America for wildfires. In Los Angeles, special teams
of Los Angeles Firefighters have fanned out through the City to
offer a detailed inspection of the more than 130,000 properties
considered to be in greatest danger. Still, you don't need to live
in or near the wildlands to be effected by a firestorm.
Los Angeles Fire Department regulations for brush clearance and
hazardous vegetation management are among the most stridently enforced
in the world - and with good reason. To learn more about our local
brush clearance regulations, please visit:
http://www.lafd.org/brush
Those
living in other areas are encourage to contact their local Fire
Department for information, and to visit these sites for generic
data on protecting their homes and families from wildfire:

Yours in Safety and Service,
