Los
Angeles City Charter
Los Angeles Community Policing promoted community involvement in
all forms, and believes a well informed community member is one
who can dramatically improve the quality of life.
The Charter for the City of Los Angeles was recently revised, and
went into effect July 1, 2000. The previous Charter was established
in 1925, and had become cumbersome and outdated.
Both the current and the previous Los Angeles City Charters are
available online at the City of Los Angeles "City
Council Library" (where there's lots of other useful
information, too), or you can click on the links here:
"City
Charter"
"Old City Charter"
NOTE:
You can always let
your local City Council member or the Mayor know what you think
is needed to make this City better. LA Community Policing makes
that easy for you by maintaining a "Virtual
City Hall" page.
An informed community is an empowered community, and we encourage
your involvement.
Make a difference in our City by playing your part, and keep Los
Angeles a clean, safe and world class place to live.
